Private alpha · Chrome first

The easiest way to record and share what you know.

Capture your screen, camera, or voice in moments. Share with a Tauk link—or download your recording and publish it anywhere you choose.

Start with Free. Paid enrollment is disabled during the private alpha; when enabled, Creator upgrades will begin only after you sign in to a Tauk workspace.

How it works

From idea to shareable in three steps.

Skip the complicated editor. Tauk keeps the workflow focused on what you want to say.

01

Choose what to capture

Record your camera, screen, microphone, or a combination that fits the message.

02

Say it once

Trim the edges and decide when viewers see you, your screen, or both—without changing the originals.

03

Share it your way

Send a clean Tauk link, copy a linked thumbnail for email, or download the finished file.

One recording. Two paths.

Your content should never feel trapped.

The current alpha uses Tauk processing to create both the finished download and an unlisted viewing link. You decide whether to share that link or distribute the downloaded file somewhere else.

Share through Tauk

A polished link in a few clicks.

Publish to a stable viewing page, then share the URL or a linked thumbnail in email and chat.

  • No giant attachment
  • A simple browser-based viewing page
  • Update the edit without changing the link

Take it anywhere

Download the file. Keep control.

After Tauk renders the edit, download the finished recording and publish it in your own app, social channel, learning platform, or archive. The unlisted Tauk link can remain unshared.

  • Downloadable finished media
  • Local originals stay under your control
  • No Tauk-only distribution requirement

Show it. Tell it. Let’s Tauk.

Built for the moments where typing falls short.

Give context, show your work, and let people watch when it fits their schedule.

01

Product walkthroughs

Explain a workflow with your screen and your voice together.

02

Async updates

Replace another meeting with a message teammates can replay.

03

Customer answers

Show the fix clearly instead of writing a wall of instructions.

04

Training and lessons

Turn knowledge into a useful resource people can revisit.

05

Creator content

Record once, download, and distribute through your own channels.

06

Stories worth keeping

Capture a voice, a face, or a memory while it is fresh.

Local-first by design

Your content. Your choice.

Tauk records to your device first and does not begin recording until you choose Start. If you previously granted camera or microphone permission, opening the recorder can restore a live preview for the selected or default mode; screen capture still waits for Chrome’s picker. Originals remain on your device until you explicitly select Back up originals or Publish.

Local originals are not silently deleted after publishing.

Published links are unlisted by default during the alpha.

Permission use is explained in plain language.

Creator Checkout is disabled during the private alpha. When enabled, it will start from an authenticated Tauk workspace, never from this anonymous page. The Free publication allowance is concurrent, not lifetime. Creator removes the two Free-only restrictions; it does not remove Tauk’s normal service limits. Taxes, volume terms, and final included capacity will be finalized and shown before live paid enrollment.

Questions, answered

What people want to know before they Tauk.

Still wondering about something? Visit support or email support@tauk.app.

What can I record?

The Chrome alpha supports camera plus screen, camera only, screen only, vertical social video, and audio-only recording. The microphone can accompany any relevant mode.

Do I have to send people a Tauk link?

No. In the current alpha, publishing uses Tauk to render the finished media and creates an unlisted link, but you can leave that link unshared, download the result, and distribute the file through your own channels.

Where does my recording live?

Tauk creates local originals on your device first. Source files and related recording metadata leave the device only when you explicitly select Back up originals or Publish. Publishing also creates the hosted rendition and share link. Local originals stay on your device until you delete them.

What is included with Free?

Free lets you record and edit locally and keep up to 10 finished publications hosted at one time. Tauk may transfer source files temporarily to create the finished edit, but Free does not retain those originals as a cloud backup. Removing a hosted copy frees its slot only after cloud cleanup succeeds; your local recording remains on your device.

Does Creator mean unlimited?

No. Creator allows retained cloud backup of original sources and removes the Free plan’s 10-publication count cap. Storage, recording duration, processing, delivery, rate, abuse, and safety limits still apply, and final included capacity will be shown before paid enrollment opens.

Who can see a Tauk link?

Alpha share links are unlisted: they are not intended for search discovery, but anyone who receives the URL may be able to open it. Do not use an unlisted link as a substitute for access control.

Is Tauk available in the Chrome Web Store?

Not yet. Tauk is in a private technical alpha while we complete production infrastructure, billing, store disclosures, and release testing.

Can I delete my recordings and account?

The alpha includes controls to request deletion of individual local and hosted recording records, while verified object cleanup and receipts are still being hardened for production. The public account-deletion page describes today’s manual request process; an authenticated in-product account-deletion flow is required before public launch.

Why does Tauk ask for browser permissions?

Storage keeps durable local recordings and preferences, Clipboard writes share links you copy, and Tauk host access connects the extension to its own service. Camera and microphone access supports previews and recording modes that need them; screen capture starts only after you choose a source in Chrome’s picker.
